Give Them Music Box
The driving force of Music is a powerful ally in regard to developing relationships with people from different walks of life. Upon returning from a trip to Mozambique in 2013, MHS board member William saw his job clearly: to learn how to capture the essence of the experiences that he and others were sharing with Music. Naturally, out of plain necessity, the Give Them Music Box was born. As of the summer of 2018, the portable studio is on its fourth round of development, has produced numerous original songs by various groups and artists of all ages and, as part of the Head Room Sessions, has recorded over 20 hours of live performances ranging from solo acts to eight-piece bands. It is the essential cornerstone upon which our entire mission is built.
As a part of the Scenesters, the Give Them Music Box has created numerous songs with the groups that perform in our regularly held battle of the bands and has played an integral role in the development of many young artists including Over the Castle, Facing West, Wake the Bat, The Skeleton Dolls and more. We have also produced full length songs and videos with elementary schools and middle schools and were able to take the GTMusic box to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica in the summer of 2018 where we put on a 5 day music camp.
